At A A Electrical, we are registered with the NICEIC, conducting our work in accordance with Part P of the Building Regulations. Our work is inspected annually by the NICEIC, but do you know what the NICEIC is?
The NICEIC stands for the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting, which is one of several organisations put in place to regulate the training and work conducted by electrical enterprises in the UK.
As the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry, the NICEIC has been in place for over 50 years, assessing the competence of electrician practitioners across the United Kingdom. High standards are ensured amongst NICEIC electricians with work being checked regularly against the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671 amongst other standards.
Electrical Contractors who are registered with NICEIC must undergo an assessment process that covers the following.
A representative sample of work
Competency of key supervisory staff
Once an electrical contractor is registered with the NICEIC, they can access a diverse range of support services which includes.
Industry recognised training
The NICEIC is also key in providing certification and approval services for businesses and individuals throughout the heating, plumbing, renewable and insulation sectors.
he NICEIC also works as the main governing body for electrical works completed deemed to be unsafe or incompetent. Operating an independent complaints procedure governing the technical standards of approved contractors, the NICEIC has the power to ensure the contractor corrects the work at no additional cost to the customer in question.
The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting keenly promotes the employment of NICEIC registered contractors such as AA Electrical to homeowners, assuring safety and competency of work.
