
What is NICEIC?
At A A Electrical, we are registered with the NICEIC, conducting our work in accordance with Part P of the Building Regulations. Our work is inspected annually by the NICEIC, but do you know what the NICEIC is?
The NICEIC stands for the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting, which is one of several organisations put in place to regulate the training and work conducted by electrical enterprises in the UK.
As the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry, the NICEIC has been in place for over 50 years, assessing the competence of electrician practitioners across the United Kingdom. High standards are ensured amongst NICEIC electricians with work being checked regularly against the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671 amongst other standards.
Contractors
Electrical Contractors who are registered with NICEIC must undergo an assessment process that covers the following.
- A representative sample of work
- Documentation
- Premises
- Equipment
- Competency of key supervisory staff
